Frequently Asked Questions

Below are our most frequently asked questions. We will update this page as more information is available and additional questions emerge from attendees. If you have additional questions, please connect with our conference planning team.

We are committed to ensuring that our conference models an inclusive environment for learning, growing and connecting together. In addition to main stage closed captioning, holding spaces for personal reflection and a nursing suite, and other supports, we are also asking all attendees to honor our community agreements for how we will interact and engage together.  Please visit the Building Inclusive Spaces area of our event site for more information. If there are supports we can provide to help ensure you are able to fully access the conference and engage with your peers, we invite you to let us know via the registration form or reach out to our conference support team.

CMF continues to prioritize the well-being of members, staff, partners and communities. As of August 14, the following measures are our in-person event health and safety procedures:

  • We recommend attendees test for COVID-19 within 48 hours prior to this gathering.
  • Any attendee who is feeling unwell, who has tested positive for an illness in the 10 days prior to the event or who is showing symptoms and awaiting test results is asked not to attend.
  • If you are not able to attend due to illness, we request that you transfer your registration to another individual within your organization or we will refund the registration. Please notify CMF via conference@michiganfoundations.org with a request to transfer or refund your registration.
  • All attendees will be invited to wear one of three color-coded lanyards to indicate to other attendees their personal comfort with in-person interaction: red (greet from six feet), yellow (elbows only), green (high-fives permitted).

Please note that online registration is now closed, so refunds are no longer available unless you have an illness-related cancellation. If you have additional questions or would like to transfer your registration to another individual, please contact our CMF team at conference@michiganfoundations.org. If you cannot attend due to illness, you may transfer your registration to another individual within your organization or we will offer to refund the registration for that reason.

Suggested attire is business casual for conference and our special evening events. Select immersive experiences include time outdoors and travel between locations; attendees confirmed to attend those sessions may be advised to bring/wear a coat and comfortable shoes.

For nonmembers, payment via credit card is required when registering. CMF members may opt to pay via credit card, check or EFT.

We are not able to offer a group rate for 2023, recognizing the significant variance in size across our member organizations means the lower rate would not be an offering that many or most of our members would be able to utilize. We do recognize cost can be a barrier for younger/newer professionals in particular, given they do not always have as large a professional development budget, and so we are continuing to partner with EPIP Michigan to offer scholarships for conference attendance available to emerging practitioners. That full conference registration scholarship application will be opening soon!

In addition, we do offer a single day rate as an option for those who want to come to a single day of conference, which is about half the cost of the full conference registration. Please know this is something we will continue to re-assess and reflect on each year.

Online registration is closed. On-site registration will be available in person at the conference at increased rates of $50 additional for daily registrants and an additional $100 for full conference registrants.

This year’s conference is being designed with a focus on in-person engagement. We anticipate recording only select main stage events, such as the Annual Members Meeting and Philanthropy Award presentations. Those recordings will made be available to CMF members following this year’s conference.

Yes, there is a free mobile app for this year’s conference that we will encourage all attendees to download. The mobile app will be the best resource to access the conference agenda, session details and event resources, and to connect with other attendees. The app will be launched in October; registered attendees will receive log-in information at that time.

We invite you to connect with the CMF team for more information on becoming a conference sponsor or exhibitor.

The 52nd Annual Conference will be held October 7-9, 2024, in Traverse City.
