About the Event

Join us for a day of learning, collaboration, and strategy as we explore the impact of potential federal policy changes on Michigan’s youngest children and their families—and the role of philanthropy in meeting the moment.

The meeting will feature expert speakers in the areas of early childhood education, health, and nutrition who will talk about actual and potential federal policy changes to Head Start, Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs.  The meeting will also include the perspective of state policymakers, administrators,  and community leaders who will discuss the impact of federal policy changes on state programs, communities, and children. The afternoon will consist of a facilitated funders-only discussion centered around strategic grantmaking in response to the changing federal landscape.

The meeting is hosted by the Policy Equity Group, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and the Council of Michigan Foundations and will be held at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Battle Creek office.  Doors open for breakfast and data exhibits at 8:30 a.m., with the formal program starting at 10am. Lunch will also be provided.
