About the Organization

The Futures Foundation was founded in 1998 by a respected local family in direct response to the challenges they encountered while navigating daily life with a loved one who had a developmental disability. From its inception, the Futures Foundation has worked to support more than 5,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities through direct program support to individuals and their families.

The Futures Foundation provides hope and inspiration to, while facilitating access to everyday fundamental needs for those with special needs. The Futures Foundation also serves as a catalyst for creating pathways that address systemic challenges encountered by those with developmental disabilities.

Our goal is to create a community where those with developmental disabilities thrive – and live quality lives inclusive of dignity, confidence, independence, and joy while experiencing equity in mobility, health, social and recreational experiences, and basic needs spaces.

In the beginning, the Foundation supplied fundamentals for daily life including furniture and mobility aids. As time progressed and coverage and support from private insurance and Medicaid/Medicare declined, the Futures Foundation stepped in to provide funding for emerging gaps, including technology access, community, social and skills building experiences, dental services, caregiver value/respite, etc.
