Infusing Civil Rights, Equity & Justice into Your Grantmaking
Young people in Michigan are organizing for social justice and civil rights, addressing racial discrimination, school segregation, gun violence, LGBTQ+ rights, microaggressions and bullying, access to health education, student mental health services, youth empowerment and beyond. Youth Advisory Council (YAC) members of community foundations are invited to join fellow youth philanthropists, social justice advocates and civil rights organizers from across the state for this conversation to learn more about opportunities to address these critical issues through your grantmaking. Hear from youth civil rights leaders who are working to strengthen equity and justice, challenge prejudice and discrimination and defend the rights of all.

NCFP Series | Your Impact Strategy Doesn’t Stop at Your Grantmaking
While grantmaking is often the main tool funders think about in terms of impact, there are many other innovative ways to use your time, relationships, and resources to support your nonprofit partners and the communities you serve. Funders can leverage their established platform to spread the word about needed support and convene important partners, or can provide additional capacity to organizations beyond the check. Some look internally, and implement impact investing with the other 95% of their assets. And others support advocacy initiatives outside of their established grantmaking to shift the laws and policies that affect their work. This webinar will highlight different methods for providing support beyond grantmaking, and how to think through what can work for your philanthropy.
