Judy Woodruff, Senior Correspondent for PBS News Hour, will join us on the CMF Annual Conference main stage! She currently leads “America at a Crossroads,” an ongoing PBS series that examines the divisions fracturing our country and how we can all bridge divides.

At a time when polarization and divisions are challenging our political landscape and civil society, Judy will share with us what she’s learned touring the country, exploring the roots of division in America and throughout her decades of political reporting, and how we can help bridge those divides.
She will also reflect on what’s changed in D.C. since she arrived after covering politics and other news for five decades at NBC, CNN and PBS.

Kalamazoo-born painter, sculptor, filmmaker, and installation artist Titus Kaphar, whose artwork captures the spirit of social justice and change, will join us on our conference main stage! An award-winning artist of national renown, Titus believes that art has the power to reframe our history.
His work with history writ large and his own story offers a stirring portrait of the here and now and speaks to the most vital discussions happening around race, inclusion and reconciliation in our country.

In this powerful keynote conversation, we will hear Titus’ inspiring insights and explore learnings from his experiences that can inform our own work in amplifying unheard voices.

We will also talk about meaningful community engagement and addressing inequity by creating greater opportunity and access.

Titus’ commitment to social engagement led him to move beyond traditional modes of artistic expression to establish NXTHVN, a new national arts model that empowers emerging artists and curators of color through education and access.

As we work to meet this moment in our country together, in this main stage conversation, we will reflect on our past and our shared aspirations for the future – and how art can inform and inspire us on the journey.

Watch Titus' TedTalk.
