Foundation Leaders Cohort

At CMF, we recognize that the position of CEO can present unique opportunities and challenges, and at times can be isolating. This can be particularly true for those who are newer to their roles. With a commitment to putting equity at the center of our work and providing resources to strengthen and support the Michigan community of philanthropy, we want to ensure foundation leaders have an engaging space to connect with their peers, deepen their leadership practices and grow their toolbox of high-quality resources.

In 2022-2023 CMF launched a pilot effort to bring together a cadre of outstanding foundation leaders who began their role as CEO or Executive Director within the previous 2-5 years, creating opportunities for relationship building among the group and shared equity-centered learning to meet their unique needs. The cohort experience was then strengthened and refined to be an even more impactful offering, available by invitation only and offered exclusively to current CMF members.

Please join us in welcoming the 2024 cohort! If you want to engage in a future cohort, please contact Jen Ruud

"The [Foundation Leaders Cohort] Program has been a transformative experience. Engaging with fellow nonprofit leaders in this invaluable opportunity allowed us to share and learn together, gaining insights into critical areas of executive leadership. The program not only provided real-time solutions to strengthen our leadership but also fostered a network of strong, supportive relationships with both participants and facilitators alike. Grateful for this enriching journey that has undoubtedly elevated my perspective and approach as a CEO."
