Lawmakers will head back to Capitol Hill on July 20 to focus on the next installment of COVID-19 legislation. There may be swift action with the Senate expected to depart for a recess on August 10.
Four COVID-19 relief bills have passed since March, injecting nearly $3 trillion in aid into the economy. That number includes approximately $600 billion that went to small businesses and organizations through the Paycheck Protection Program. The House passed the HEROES Act in May but that legislation has not seen any movement in the Senate.

A new report is sharing insights from educators on potential solutions to address Michigan’s teacher shortage.
According to the report, conducted by Public Policy Associates (PPA) on behalf of the Michigan Education Association (MEA), AFT Michigan and Middle Cities Education Association, the number of teaching certificates issued dropped by 24% from the 2013-2014 school year to the 2017-2018 school year.

Census 2020: 23 Days and Counting
We are just 23 days away from Census Day. Beginning April 1, everyone who lives in the U.S. and participates in the census will be counted at the place where they reside most of the year.
