Biography
Prior to joining the OFL in August 2024, Lesada served as the director of operations for the Growing Michigan Together Council, where he successfully managed a public-private partnership and its bipartisan committee. Prior to this, he held various leadership and fundraising roles in Detroit's nonprofit sector, including chief of staff at the Pope Francis Center, marketing & communications specialist at the Pope Francis Center, and corporate relations associate at the United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

Describe what you do in your role.
In my role, I work to identify, develop, and strengthen public-private partnerships at the intersection of Michigan philanthropy and state government. Day to day, that involves transmitting information to various stakeholders across the state, facilitating strategic partnerships to support Michigan communities, and managing projects both small and large.
What do you enjoy the most about your work?
I sincerely believe that no problem is too big when we all work together to better our communities. I love seeing what we're able to accomplish when we link arms and walk towards a common goal.
What are the causes you’re most passionate about?
As a Detroiter, I am particularly excited about Michigan cities, specifically how history, policy, and the built environment directly affect how Michiganders experience virtually every aspect of life in our state's urban areas.
What inspires, challenges or motivates you?
I'm inspired by Michigan's legacy of progress, innovation, and opportunity. Still, there is much work to be done, and I'm motivated by the promise of equity, justice, and shared prosperity.
What do you love about Michigan?
I love the variety that Michigan has to offer. From excellent cities to breathtaking nature, with incredible summers and magical winters, I can't imagine myself living anywhere but Michigan.
