Biography

Bill serves as CMF’s senior vice president of information technology and membership systems. Bill has more than 20 years of IT experience. He is a Salesforce MVP and shares his talents to support national projects as a leader in the United Philanthropy Forum’s Knowledge Management system, an integrated Website (Drupal) and Salesforce solution for philanthropy serving organizations, as well as a leader of the nonprofit Salesforce community that built Outbound Funds. Outside of work, Bill stays busy having fun outdoors with his wife and four children.

Describe what you do in your role.

I provide IT leadership and support to CMF and our Michigan community of philanthropy, ensuring that we’re all equipped with technology and software to collaborate and work effectively. I also provide more direct and customized support to CMF members through the development of websites, providing technology solutions and raising awareness about online security. In addition to technology, I lead CMF’s membership systems, providing guidance on your membership and can help you to get engaged with our CMF community. 

What do you enjoy the most about your work?  

I love interacting with our CMF community, helping with technical challenges and offering creative solutions.

What are the causes you’re most passionate about?  

I’m very passionate about making technology accessible to our sector and finding new ways to advance missions and build and grow capacity across the field.  

What inspires, challenges or motivates you?  

I’m inspired by the amazing work that our CMF members and the broader philanthropic sector do every day.  I’m honored by the opportunity to be a part of that community and to serve and support so many of you in fulfilling your mission. 

What do you love about Michigan?

I love the lakes, trees and of course the cars we have in Michigan. There is always something to see or a new amazing place to discover all within our own state.
