Kim Skeltis owns Blue Blaze Public Relations, a solo public relations consultancy in which she offers a full spectrum of public relations services – from strategic planning and strategy development to tactical implementation. Accredited in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Kim brings 20 years of communications expertise serving organizations from corporations to nonprofits across a wide spectrum of industries. A veteran of the agency world, she offers the collective experience of working at two large PR agencies, Weber Shandwick and Stratacomm (FleishmanHillard company in Detroit where Kim also served as managing director), and a boutique firm in addition to her three years of owning Blue Blaze PR.
Kim has provided public relations support to numerous organizations over the years, with a special emphasis on nonprofits that support economic development in Michigan communities. Kim’s foundation experience dates to 1990 when she joined the inaugural Youth Alliance Committee (YAC) of the Battle Creek Community Foundation and later became a board director. She also served as a team counselor at the CMF Youth Grantmakers Summer Leadership Conference in 1992.
