Carole J. Pence is President and Founder of Pence Consulting, a consulting firm established in 1992. The mission of the firm is to provide qualified, competent and experienced fundraising assistance to ensure the vitality and long-term viability of nonprofit organizations. The firm works on all aspects of nonprofit management and fundraising. The firm sponsors a variety of national training seminars. Pence Consulting specializes in Annual, Endowment, and Capital Campaigns along with developing fundraising plans and board and staff development.
In 1995, Carole joined the faculty of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and as a member of the faculty teaches four of their core courses. Carole is certified in a variety of validated assessment tools; holds of MA from Northern Michigan University; a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University; is a Certified DiSC trainer and is a licensed charitable fundraiser.
In her work with foundations Carole has conducted organizational assessments and surveys; provided technical support for annual and special project campaigns; assisted in writing case statements and fund development plans; and conducted numerous workshops on a variety of topics. Pence Consulting has contracted with foundations on implementing new strategies for raising money, including establishing planned and memorial giving programs. Pence Consulting has facilitated board meetings and retreats. Carole served for six months as an interim director for a foundation.
