Over the past three decades, Gregory A. Schupra’s extensive work in philanthropic planning and management has assisted thousands of people and their advisers in creating and administering more than $1 billion of charitable wealth plans. Author of the book, “An Unexpected Legacy: Strategies of Generosity,” Mr. Schupra brings an uncommon and practical perspective to his work as a philanthropic adviser by insuring that foundation and donor philanthropic values, visions, and goals align with their planning.
Creator of four community foundations, Mr. Schupra served as one of the first development professionals of a community foundation in the country. He directed the Fundraising Academy for the $39 million Van Dusen Endowment Challenge of The Kresge Foundation as well as served in leadership positions in the Advancement Network of the Council on Foundations, the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, and as a founder of the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan. He has provided foundation management services for 150 charitable foundations with responsibility for granting over $50 million annually. Mr. Schupra presents at professional and philanthropic adviser and donor education meetings, seminars, conferences, and workshops throughout the United States.
