Lisa D. McGill is the founder of LM Strategies Consulting. Over the years, McGill has consulted on projects for foundations, funder collaboratives, and philanthropic networks to drive social change. Her content expertise includes leadership and pipeline development, community philanthropy, and increasing opportunities for historically resilient communities.
With her tactical approach to community building, McGill is known for helping donors and grantmakers design initiatives that work at the intersection of strategic planning, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the realities of on-the-ground implementation.
Her clients have included place-based and community foundations, as well as major national foundations. She has also worked with associations and networks such as Youth Transition Funders Group (YTFG), Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equity (PRE), National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers, and Community Foundation Opportunity Network (CFON), among others. McGill received her B.A., in English modified with Latin American and Caribbean Studies, from Dartmouth College, and a Ph.D. in American Studies from Yale University.
