Callan Maxwell

Callan is a high school junior honors student and ranks in the top 2 in her class. She is actively involved in the student council and the Black Student Union. Outside of academics, Callan brings her passion for STEAM to her high school’s robotics team, where she has been a member for five years and where she was the team lead of the Impact Team during the past two competition years. Under her leadership, the Impact Team achieved back-to-back Impact Awards at the district level. Callan’s commitment to service extends beyond school walls. For the last three years, Callan has been a member of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at the Capital Region Community Foundation in Lansing. This year marks her first year as a member of Michigan Community Foundations’ Youth Project (MCFYP). Additionally, Callan serves on the Youth Council of REACH Art Studio in Lansing. Callan continues to study and perform with the Happendance School and dance company. She has just wrapped up 5 years of being a cast member of the nationally syndicated PBS television show, Curious Crew and its sister show, Curious About Careers. In her downtime, she enjoys exploring new places through travel, experimenting with makeup and indulging in video games.
