National Day of Racial Healing
On Tuesday, communities across the state and the U.S. will come together for events and programming for the fourth annual National Day of Racial Healing (NDORH).

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation has provided a $1 million grant to support the expansion campaign of the Motown Museum.
The foundation is lending support to phase one of the expansion—Hitsville Next—the Motown Museum’s creative hub for entrepreneurship designed to offer innovative education and community engagement programs. The programming made possible through Hitsville Next is designed to activate and inspire future generations of creatives, artists and entrepreneurs.
Groups Protest the Sale of .ORG Domain
On Friday, a crowd gathered outside the Los Angeles office of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the governing body which oversees .ORG domain rights, to protest the sale of the .ORG domain to a private equity firm.
As CMF reported in December, the Internet Society reached an agreement with Ethos Capital, under which Ethos Capital would acquire Public Interest Registry (PIR), the company that owns the .ORG domain.

Year-end Legislation Repeals Transportation Benefits Tax and Streamlines Private Foundation Excise Tax
As December came to a close, an important piece of legislation was passed by Congress and signed by the President that has significant implications on our sector.
On December 20, 2019, H.R. 1865, the “Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020” became law. This legislation includes the repeal of Internal Revenue Code Section (IRC) 512(a)(7), the unrelated business income tax (UBIT) on qualified transportation benefits, and simplification of the private foundations excise tax.
Healthy Michigan Work Requirements Go into Effect
