Join your Michigan philanthropy peers engaged in supporting workforce needs. Conversations and storytelling will be focused on, but not limited to, talent attraction and retention, training, and workforce housing supported by Michigan philanthropy. We will meet with selected state legislators engaged in these policy-making areas, so a broader range of discussion is welcome. This is an opportunity to highlight Michigan philanthropy’s work towards equitable opportunities for the jobs of today and the jobs of tomorrow. We will also learn about legislative priorities in education and deepen connections with policymakers working to shape the future of the workforce in Michigan.
The Safety Net work group, in partnership with the Governor's Office of Foundation Liaison and the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, is hosting a virtual convening with leaders and learners across the state to hear from Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha and Luke Shaefer, Ph.D., about the Flint Rx Kids program. The program is leveraging Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and philanthropic support to guarantee an income every month for an infant's first year for all expectant families in the city of Flint. Join us and learn more about this innovative approach to deploying TANF funding.
