It has been over a year since Russian forces invaded Ukraine, creating humanitarian and economic crises that have impacted millions. There have been over 18,000 civilian casualties. Nearly 6 million Ukrainians are internally displaced and 8.1 million have fled as refugees.

Philanthropy continues to mobilize to support Ukraine, its refugees and those who are displaced. As of March 3, Council on Foundations (COF) shared that Candid has tracked 1,591 grants valued at over $1.5 billion and over $1.2 billion in pledges.

COF is sharing the latest updates, resources and response funds for philanthropy to continue to support those affected by the war.

In partnership with Philea, COF, Community Foundations of Canada, Philanthropic Foundations Canada, CMF member Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the European Community Foundation Initiative convened for a conversation with 2022 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk. This conversation highlighted how mobilized private funders and transatlantic support have responded. Watch excerpts and key points from the conversation.

Philea has created a pledge of solidarity and support for the people of Ukraine. Several organizations in the U.S. and across the world have signed the statement. Learn More.
