The Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) is supporting learning opportunities to raise awareness around issues connected to fair housing and provide tools and resources to residents of Flint and Genesee County.

According to an article, the annual “Love Where You Live” Fair Housing Conference presented by the Flint Area Community Resource Board and supported in part by CFGF, took place earlier this month sharing information about landlord and tenant rights, credit and homeownership, community resources and more.

In addition to supporting this conference, CFGF participated in the Legal Services of Eastern Michigan Fair Housing Center Virtual Conference held on Friday.

The conference, “Owning Our Truths, Embracing Our Change” focused on the history and impact of housing policies, practices and possibilities of life in Flint – past, present and future.

Lynn Williams, community engagement officer at CFGF, along with representatives from the city of Flint and Sloan Museum, participated in the conference.
“We are striving to build a community where racial equity is at the heart of how the community moves forward,” Williams said.
