Suzanne Allen, Ph.D., President, Philanthropy Ohio
Dr. Suzanne Allen serves as the president of Philanthropy Ohio and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from over 25 years in marketing, development and leadership roles in public and private organizations.  She is committed to helping people engaged in philanthropy become more effective, powerful change agents so that our communities and our region are strengthened.
Prior to her appointment with this organization, Suzanne was the vice president for development and donor services for Akron Community Foundation. During her career, she also has held teaching, senior development and leadership positions with several universities, including the University of Akron, Walsh University and Kent State University, as well as acting as a private consultant serving clients nationally in the nonprofit and academic sectors. She holds degrees in English from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, a Master’s in Marketing from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development/Strategic Planning from Georgia State University.

Colleen Durbin Mitchell, Sr. Vice President for Donor Services and Development, The Columbus Foundation
Colleen’s work has spanned nearly three decades throughout the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Her corporate experience includes past management of two publicly-traded corporations’ foundations, Imcera Group, Inc. and Whirlpool Corporation. In the nonprofit and philanthropic realms, Colleen served as president of NorthShore University HealthSystem Foundation in Evanston, Illinois. She also founded her own firm, VENTURE3Philanthropy LLC, through which she has provided expert philanthropic advice to numerous leading CEOs and prominent, multi-generational families, national grantmaking institutions, as well as social entrepreneurs. The Tri-State Community Foundation Webinar Series is a new program offering made possible through an agreement between The Council of Michigan Foundations, Philanthropy Ohio and Indiana Philanthropy Alliance.  The webinars will be designed for (but not exclusive to) community foundations.
