George C. Jacobsen, program officer, Community Development/Detroit, The Kresge Foundation
George C. Jacobsen joined The Kresge Foundation’s Community Development/Detroit Program in 2011 after three years with its national Arts & Culture Program. George is responsible for the administration of Kresge’s Artist Fellowship, the Eminent Artist Award Program, the Art X Detroit biennial public art festival, and a general operating support program reaching over 65 arts and cultural organizations across the region. In addition he pursues grantmaking opportunities that advance the Foundation’s comprehensive strategic framework, Re-Imagining Detroit 2020, to reverse decades of disinvestment in Detroit and reposition the city as a model for revitalization.
Sandra McAlister Ambrozy, senior program officer, Human Services, The Kresge Foundation
As senior program officer for Human Services, Sandra McAlister Ambrozy reviews grant proposals from community based nonprofit organizations and explores grantmaking opportunities that support The Kresge Foundation’s goals and values.
Sandra joined Kresge in 1982 and served initially as a general program assistant and program officer. She staffed Kresge’s Green Building Initiative to encourage nonprofits to design environmentally sustainable facilities and coordinated the Partnership to Raise Community Capital, a national initiative for community foundations.
Prior to joining Kresge, she worked at the Boston Children’s Museum and the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and humanities in Boston.
