Most recently, before joining the Foundation, Melissa served as Director of Communications and Information Resources for the Council of Michigan Foundations. She has a wide range of experience in aspects of nonprofit communications, public relations, marketing, planning, leadership, and social media having worked extensively in the philanthropy, healthcare, and arts and culture sectors. She is currently on the board of directors of the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance. Melissa has an M.A. in Organizational Communication from Western Michigan University and a B.S. in Education from Central Michigan University.
