Michigan Governor Rick Snyder’s 2019 budget proposal includes level funding for many health and human services programs for Michigan families with low wages, people with disabilities and seniors. There are few new investments largely because state leaders have not addressed the ongoing need for additional revenues, opting instead to reduce taxes on businesses while failing to support sufficient sources of new funding for their initiatives—including needed road improvements.
