The CMF Consulting Services Network is a diverse and highly skilled team of independent consultants with extensive experience providing counsel to philanthropic organizations in Michigan.
From board training, strategic planning and growing impact to succession planning, impact investing, leadership development, evaluation, strategic partnership facilitation and much more, CMF consultants’s diverse expertise and our network's flexible structure allows us to create customized solutions that can respond to even the most complex member needs.
CMF serves as the contracting agent for all consulting engagements, and is with members every step of the way as they select a partner(s) from expert network. members may fund their engagements through a grant award as CMF is a 501(c)(3) organization.
CMF has thoroughly vetted and selected consultants that have direct expertise working with foundations, essential given the unique characteristics of varying foundation business models and legal requirements. Along with their own extensive foundation-related experiences, our consultants will always be connected to the latest foundation field resources, tools, or best practices to ensure maximum relevance and value for our members.
Partnerships with our consultants include a commitment to Michigan's philanthropic sector, allowing us to create a rate structure that makes world-class expertise accessible and affordable. Community foundation members with assets of less than $50 million may qualify for a consulting services grant from the Community Foundation Endowment.
Through a network/team approach, dynamic teams of consultants can fulfill your project, so consultants can focus solely in their areas of expertise. Because of our network approach, it is possible to change or add consultants if different expertise is needed as the engagement evolves or to have CMF provide support from its core member services if appropriate to bridge gaps and manage costs.
We've featured each consultant with a bio, areas of expertise and a list of recent foundation clients to help you get to know the consultants on our team and the breadth of expertise available to you.
By listening to you, and taking the time to understand your needs, we can create a custom plan that fits your foundation, fund or giving program. To start the conversation, contact Debbie McKeon, senior vice president, member services, via email or by calling 616.850.2133.
Are you a foundation or giving program, but not a CMF member?
We're pleased to make our Consulting Services Network available to you, with the same consultants, same expertise, and a competitive rate structure. We'd be happy to talk with you about it.
