Biography

Marena Swagler is the office manager for OFL. Prior to joining CMF, she was the office manager for a large mental healthcare corporation. She brings with her extensive administrative knowledge. Marena is passionate about equity in healthcare and education. As the mother of two young children, she spends her time volunteering within Lansing School District and as a South Lansing Girl Scout troop leader.

Describe what you do in your role. 

I assist the Governor's Office of Foundation Liaison with all administrative duties including scheduling, prepping webinars and maintaining the overall flow of the office.

What do you enjoy the most about your work?

I enjoy the versatility of being able to do a variety of tasks. There’s always something new happening in OFL. 

What are the causes you’re most passionate about?

I’m most passionate about racial equity; specifically in regards to quality healthcare and education.

What inspires, challenges or motivates you?

My kids- I want to create a better, more equitable world for my children to grow up in.

What do you love about Michigan?

You can never get bored here! From having all 4 seasons to the great lakes, there is always something fun to see or do.
