SingleTrack Sisters Fat Bike Team, a Cadillac non-profit organization, received a $2000 grant on May 22, 2018. The grant was endowed by The Cadillac Area Women’s Giving Circle, a component fund of the Cadillac Area Community Foundation for the purpose of purchasing fat bikes.
The goal of the project is to encourage girls ages 14-18 to get out and get active by participating in the sport of trail biking. The coach is Kamie Wade of Cadillac Michigan. Kamie is a endurance coach for many triathletes in the area and is herself, a triathlete and cyclist of 20 years.
SingleTrack Sisters mission is to grow the participation of females in trail biking. Doing so by focusing on reaching young girls ages 14-18 that want to branch out and learn a sport that isn’t offered in school, giving them a healthy outlet to focus on. So many aspects of trail biking are life skills that the girls can carry into their daily lives.
Along with biking, team members are encouraged to give back by volunteering in the community and mentoring younger girls in the sport of trail biking.
