We are continuing to monitor the recent actions of the presidential administration around federal funding grants and challenges to efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
A federal judge last week issued several preliminary injunctions in response to the presidential administration’s recent Executive Order (EO) to withhold federal funding while they review and challenge DEI efforts, including:
- Enjoining the Office of Management and Budget (OBM) from implementing its memo to freeze all federal funding. This comes after the temporary restraining order last month extending a previous administrative stay on the attempted freeze, filed by the National Council of Nonprofits (NCN), American Public Health Association, Main Street Alliance and SAGE.
- Blocking the termination of equity-related contracts or grants as potentially unconstitutional.
From Our CMF Community
Angelique Power, president and CEO of The Skillman Foundation, shared a response to two EOs that have been issued directing federal agencies to determine how to expand school choice and develop a strategy to end “radical indoctrination” in schools.
