Wednesday, January 22, 2020

To celebrate more than 130 years of Consumers Energy investing in Michigan’s future, the Consumers Energy Foundation announced for the second consecutive year the People, Planet and Prosperity Awards – three grant awards totaling $1.5 million in 2020.

The Planet Awards are currently open for Letters of Intent from Michigan nonprofits. Let’s make a positive impact in Michigan together.

Impacting the Planet by Supporting Michigan’s Land, Water and Air
The Consumers Energy Foundation is dedicated to ensuring Michigan has world-class natural resources. Our freshwater lakes and streams demand great care along with the health and viability of our land and air. We’re committed to supporting nonprofit organizations who strengthen environmental stewardship, preserve the natural beauty of Michigan and reduce environmental impact when natural resources are used.

This year, the foundation is seeking letters of intent to support projects supporting Michigan’s environment in the following categories:

  • Land: The Consumers Energy Foundation supports nonprofit agencies focused on enhancing, protecting and restoring land in Michigan.

  • Water: The Consumers Energy Foundation supports nonprofit agencies focused on reduction in use of water, water conservation and water quality around the state.
