The Charlevoix County Community Foundation (C3F) has announced its new president, Sara Ward.

According to a C3F press release, Ward found her way into the nonprofit sector nearly 20 years ago, including 15 years in community philanthropy. She joined the C3F team as the organization’s first director of Development and Donor Services in 2016, and her natural leadership skills and talent working with donors helped to take C3F to the next level in their organizational development.

In 2022 as part of the organization's transition plan around Chip Hansen's retirement, Ward was identified as the top candidate to be the next president of C3F and was promoted to vice president.

“I love community philanthropy. I love the connection with people around meaningful topics to make a positive impact where we live. I’m inspired by the thoughtful and committed people I cross paths with every day,” Ward said.

After 7 years of moving C3F forward, she will now lead the organization into the future, beginning her role as C3F’s first female president on April 27, 2023.

“We feel so fortunate to have Sara Ward as our next president. Sara's experience and enthusiasm make her the perfect choice to lead the Foundation into the future. Her work has gained our respect and trust over the past seven years. She is an inspirational leader who is both knowledgeable and kind, and her desire to help our community is infectious! Sara reflects the values of the Charlevoix County Community Foundation in everything she does, and we look forward to supporting her vision for the Foundation. We can't wait to see all that she and her team are able to accomplish,” Monica Peck, C3F Board president said.

We look forward to welcoming Ward in her new role as president!
