Brittany Kienker, knowledge insights specialist, Council of Michigan Foundations
Dr. Brittany Kienker brings over 10 years of experience in foundations, nonprofits and higher education to her firm, Kienker Consulting LLC. She’s lead researcher for Ask CMF technical assistance service; an adjunct professor in Central Michigan University's Master of Science in Administration-Philanthropy and Fundraising program; and a full member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers. Dr. Kienker has played an integral role in strategic and master plan initiatives, leadership transitions, organizational restructuring and implementation of best practices in philanthropy at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Indiana University Foundation, Michigan Aerospace Foundation, St. Mary Mercy Hospital, The Henry Ford, and Anthem Foundation. Dr. Kienker received her Ph.D. from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and earned a M.A. in Philanthropic Studies and Public History.
Dave Lindberg, chief financial officer, Council of Michigan Foundations
Dave joined CMF in 1995 after working in the public and corporate accounting fields and earning his CPA from the State of Michigan. In addition to fiscal, investment and administrative responsibilities, Dave provides direct assistance to CMF members on investments, accounting rules, personnel policies, administration and internal policy. He currently serves on the Council on Foundations (COF) Effective Practices Committee and on the Independent Sector 990 PF Reform Advisory Committee and is a member of the COF Community Foundation Fiscal & Administrative Officer’s Group (FAOG) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).
Megan Murphy, grants manager, Michigan Health Endowment Fund
Megan joined the Michigan Health Endowment Fund in June 2016 as Grants Manager. In her current role as Program Officer for Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles, she works to improve access to healthy foods, food security and nutrition and wellness education for children, their families, and older adults in the State of Michigan. She also oversees the Health Fund’s Community Health Impact grant program and capacity building efforts to improve nonprofit effectiveness. Previously, Megan served as a sponsored programs administrator at Spectrum Health System; project manager for the Johnson Center for Philanthropy; program coordinator for FitKids360; and as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Heart of West Michigan United Way.
Surabhi Pandit, senior program officer, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan
Surabhi is a Senior Program Officer at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan where she manages grantmaking programs that focus on human services; the LGBT community; immigrant/refugee support youth entrepreneurship, leadership & development. Previously, she served as the William C. Richardson Fellow in Government Affairs and Philanthropy at the Council of Michigan Foundations and focused on developing programs that respond to public policy issues of aging, health, education, arts and culture, women and girls, and the environment. Surabhi is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with a Master of Social Work focused on social policy and evaluation in community and social systems; and a BA in Sociology and South Asian Studies. She currently serves as co-chair of the Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) Michigan Chapter’s steering committee.
