Sarah Eagle Heart is an Emmy award winning social justice storyteller, producer and consultant whose deep perspective on healing trauma is rooted in her life story and experiences as a teen activist raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. She is a member of the Oglala Lakota Nation and is an internationally accomplished executive focused on education and advocacy on behalf of Indigenous Peoples. After working directly on Truth and Healing since the Episcopal Church became the first denomination to Repudiate the Doctrine of Discovery in 2009, she has built bridges between tribal communities, denominations, nonprofits, influencers and philanthropy to shift American culture toward racial justice and healing. She will share the moments of celebration, and the challenges she has witnessed from grassroots to the grass tops in the philanthropic sector.
We will also welcome Spirits Rising, a dynamic musical duo featuring singers and songwriters Alice Sun and Joe Reilly. Drawing on their Native American heritage (Powhatan and Cherokee respectively), their songs include traditional indigenous musical elements as well as notes of jazz, folk, blues, hip-hop and rock.
