Adverse Child Experiences: From Prevention to Resilience

Adverse Child Experiences (ACEs) is the term used to describe potentially traumatic experiences that occur to people under the age of 18. Research shows that ACEs can result in poor health, chronic conditions and even early death. Organizations within Michigan have embarked on an ambitious journey to advance awareness and reduce the long-term impact of childhood adversity, leading with the ACEs multi-sector engagement framework. This session will provide a national perspective on early childhood trauma and resilience as we explore the outcomes and action plans spearheaded by the Michigan ACEs Initiative and foundation partners engaged in this work.

This session was designed by the Health Funders Affinity Group.
