The Council of Michigan Foundations is pleased to partner with the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy to offer the Grantmaking Series, a practitioner led learning series that teaches the techniques of effective grantmaking to foundation program officers and other grantmaking professionals. The program is designed to be as accessible and affordable as possible by offering most sessions via webinar with a sprinkling of more intensive full and half-day sessions. Participants who complete the series will receive a special Certificate of Completion. The sessions are academically rigorous but also highly practical.
The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy increases the efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations through nonprofit technical assistance, community research and evaluation, grantmaker education, and research on the field of philanthropy. They strengthen the impact of the charitable sector by bringing highly practical resources and services that are grounded in best practices and tailor them to meet the needs of the organizations they work with.
To be eligible for a Certificate of Completion, participants need to complete four of the six webinar offerings and two half-day or one full-day session of the on-the-ground sessions.
