Get to know Chelsea:

What do you do all day long?

My days are spent supporting the great members that make up CMF! I support the programs that we offer members of CMF, and I spend about half my time supporting our robust youth philanthropy programming for the state of Michigan. I also support many different Affinity Groups at CMF, as well as the Green and Blue Network, and corporate foundations and corporate giving programs.

What’s the best part of your job?

Working with people from all over Michigan that are passionate about philanthropy, making a difference, and helping our great state.

Favorite flavor of ice cream?

I really love so many different flavors of ice cream- but my two go to flavors are Moose Tracks and Mint Chocolate Chip!

Favorite book?

Trying to pick a favorite book is a very difficult task, but I have always loved Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Favorite book from childhood?

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

What music are you streaming?

Most definitely Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty- my favorite song by far!  It is a song that fits many different moments in life- it’s specifically a great song for summer- when you can roll down your windows and sing the lyrics!

Why do you love where you live?

I am a Michigander through and through, and have lots of love for Pure Michigan.  I spent 18 years living in the middle of the state, so I am very excited to be living in Detroit and am looking forward to exploring and learning about this city.  I am living in the Eastern Market neighborhood, and already it seems like there will always be something fun going on!

If you could choose a super power, what would it be?

I wish I had the super power to find a cure for cancer.  I have had many family members and friends that have been impacted by cancer- and if I could have the super power to cure this horrible disease- I very much wish that I could.

Dream vacation?

There are two dream vacations that I have: to go on an African Safari and to visit Australia and New Zealand.  I love traveling, and hope that I will be able to continue to explore the world throughout my entire life!

Hobbies?

Traveling, spending as much time with my family as possible, visiting friends that live all over, cheering for my favorite sports teams, dancing, and baking.
