Here's what I can help you with:
Anything and everything related to Launch Michigan.
Get to know Adam:
What do you do all day long?
Great Question - and one that I am still asking myself each day!
All kidding aside, I have a wonderful job that I am extremely grateful for. Each day I wake up and help improve public education for all Michigan kids; something I am deeply passionate about, and a significant factor as to why I became involved in public service. Additionally, each day is different. From listening to and learning from thousands of Michigan educators, to working with policy makers on ways to improve educational opportunities, to helping educate the millions of Michiganders on what Launch is doing and why it’s different - there is not one day that is the same for me.
What’s the best part of your job?
Learning from the people who make up the three legs of a child’s educational tripod; educators, parents and students themselves, on what motivates them and how we can all work together to improve equity of opportunity for all kids.
Favorite flavor of ice cream?
Mint Chocolate Chip
What music are you streaming?
At the time of this writing; Christmas music. But other times of the year, it varies widely. As a kid whose father and grandfather operated jukeboxes for a living, I grew up listening to everything from Billie Holiday to the Beach Boys and beyond.
Why do you love where you live?
Washtenaw County is a wonderful place to live, work and play. I'm a bit partial because I grew up here, but as I've grown "wiser" in my years, I've come to realize that in addition to its wonderful ammenities, it is also the home of so many of my friends, and being close to them makes it special to me.
If you could choose a super power, what would it be?
The ability to read minds; it would make my job sooooo much easier.
Favorite book from childhood?
"Where the Wild Things Are"
I don't have one, but I love anything historical non-fiction, in general.
Anywhere with an interesting history.
Anything on water, and working on old cars (the latter much to my chagrin at times).
