$200 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE for COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS


CMF is offering scholarships to Community Foundation staff or trustees interested in attending CMF’s 38th Annual Conference Nurturing Innovation at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme to help subsidize registration costs. Each Community Foundation and Community Foundation Affiliate with assets under $20 million will be eligible for a $200 per person scholarship for their first two registrants for a total of $400 in scholarships. Community Foundations with assets over $20 million will be eligible for a single $200 scholarship for the third participant they send.

There are no extra steps in the registration process. Register now and you will automatically receive the appropriate scholarship based on the registrations submitted

*Note: CMF will issue all eligible community foundations their scholarships via check after the annual conference in October. All registrations must be paid for in order for the scholarship payment to be processed. Questions? Contact Haley Lamm.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation Receives National Award For Efforts To Increase Recreation Opportunities For People Of All Ages and Abilities


Access to Recreation The Council on Foundations has announced that the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has received a Critical Impact Award in recognition of its multi-state Access to Recreation initiative. The national award recognizes grantmaking foundations that have demonstrated innovative leadership, bold vision, and significant impact in advancing the common good through effective grantmaking. The Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) was an important partner to the initiative, coordinating statewide efforts to encourage policy change surrounding the issue of accessible recreation. Additional statewide partners include Ohio Grantmakers Forum, Indiana Grantmakers Alliance, and Donors Forum (Illinois). Read more.
