FAQs

What is the Council of Michigan Foundations?

The Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership association of more than 350 grantmakers working together to strengthen, promote and increase philanthropy in Michigan. We are a diverse and innovative community that helps members network, learn, advocate and communicate to achieve greater impact.  CMF does not make grants.

Where can I get a list of grantmakers in Michigan?

You can search our online member directory to find CMF members by organization name, type or county. If you are looking for more information, you can purchase The Michigan Foundation Directory, the most complete resource of Michigan grantmaking - an invaluable resource for grantseekers, providing updated information on 2,500+ foundations that give in Michigan. CMF members needing additional contact information should log in to access additional search criteria and to find individual members.

Where can I find salary and compensation data?

In Resources & Publications, CMF members have access to salary and compensation data provided by COF and compiled by CMF through surveying the membership. You must log in as a CMF member to access the data. If you are looking for additional information, please contact CMF for personalized research assistance, offered as a benefit of membership. We will respond to your inquiry the same business day.
