Register now for this 2-day introduction to philanthropy and grantmaking designed for staff and trustees with up to two years experience in a community, corporate, family or independent foundation or those looking for a refresher. Gain the knowledge, insight, skills and tools you need to be effective in your work.

This course will cover the following module topics:

  • Being Grounded in Philanthropy
  • Navigating Legal and Ethical Issues 
  • Making Sound Funding Decisions 
  • Communicating Funding Recommendations and Decisions 
  • Managing the Grant Portfolio 
  • Maximizing Grant Impact 
  • Managing Personal & Professional Changes

The schedule will be: Thursday, October 25th from 9am to 5pm and Friday, October 26th from 9am to 4:30pm

Hotel accommodations can be made at the Holiday Inn Express Detroit Downtown by calling 313-887-7000, cost is $145.00 per night.  The Inn is located at 1020 Washington Blvd, Detroit, MI 48226 and is approximately a 2minute walk to the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

Non-Members: $475.00

Cancellation Fee: $50.00 if cancelled on or before October 18, 2012. No refunds after October 18, 2012
