Get Technical Assistance

One component of CMF’s W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant to support technical assistance for Michigan community foundations includes two specific programs:

On-Site Mentoring for Community Foundation CEO’s and Board Committees

This program provides the opportunity for an experienced practitioner to visit at least 20 community foundations a year to offer coaching to the CEO, strategic planning for the Board of Trustees and assistance with key committees.

Technical assistance services could include:

  • Orientation assistance for new CEO
  • Consultation with CEO on board/staff issues
  • Consultation with board regarding board/staff issues
  • Facilitation of strategic planning sessions with board and staff
  • Facilitation of Governance, Finance and Administration, Asset Development, Grantmaking, Convening/Leadership and/or Communications planning with staff and/or board
  • Board/Staff education including assistance with national standards
  • Overview of community foundation potential
  • Telephone availability in preparation for the visit and to follow-up on items arising during the visit

Financial Software assistance  

This program provides community foundations with assets less than $15 million access to training and technical assistance on either FIMS or Community Pearl financial software.
